Battleship: Preview & Trailer

Battleship, as boring as the name sounds, has more to it than meets the eye. With the latest upcoming movie from director, Peter Berg (The Kingdom, Hancock), Battleship focuses on Admiral Shane, played by Liam Neeson, who, along with his fleet of ships, comes across an unknown, alien force, who initiate an attack on them. Fighting for their lives, Shane and his men, including Alexander Skarsgard, playing Stone Hopper, who is in a relationship with the Admiral’s daughter, must find out what the unknown species are doing, and destroy them before they complete their abominable objective. Check out the trailer, a very deceiving one for the first half:
Although it seems somewhat far-fetched, I have a feeling this could surprise us all and turn out to be a great movie. Also, Liam Neeson is in it, so I’m sure there’ll be some ass-kicking, adrenaline-filled scenes of him fist-fighting a giant alien robot and kicking the shit out of it…But seriously, I think it could be good. I’m enjoying this new genre of aliens clashing with peculiar areas of the planet, what with the release of Cowboys & Aliens, and now this. It makes a change from the generic aliens attacking the whole of Earth, trying to destroy it all at once.
Battleship, stars Liam Neeson, Alexander Skarsgard, Brooklyn Decker, Taylor Kitsch, Josh Pence, and even Rihanna., It will be hitting cinema screens on the 18th May, 2012.

New Doctor Who Trailer
Posted: July 25, 2011 Filed under: Previews | Tags: Adolf Hitler, Alex Kingston, Amy Pond, BBC, DoctorWho, Karen Gillan, Matt Smith, MattSmith, River Song, Television Leave a comment »Fans of the latest Doctor Who series will be pleased to know that a new trailer is out for the next 6 episodes, which will be concluding the current season, with Matt Smith as the Doctor and Karen Gillan reprising her role as the lovely Amy Pond. The trailer below shows bits and pieces of the upcoming 6 episodes, continuing from the last episode which aired, which ended with River Song (Alex Kingston) finally revealing who she was – a twist which I, personally, loved. Check out the trailer:
So, what do you think? Although I have enjoyed the current season, with Smith portraying the Doctor, it does seem to be missing the spark that the previous series’ had – in particular, the strong and interesting storylines. However, I felt this began to pick up towards the ending of the first half, and from this trailer, it would seem the programme is finally returning back to basics, with the episode on Hitler looking particularly interesting (titled ‘Let’s Kill Hitler’). It would seem that, hopefully, this second half of the series will out-do the first half.
The conclusion of the 6th series of Doctor Who comes back to our TV screens on the 27th August, the same time as it does in the US I’m assuming, to keep any Who nerds over the pond happy, too.

Paranormal Activity 3 Trailer
Posted: July 23, 2011 Filed under: Previews | Tags: Film, Katie Featherston, Michael R. Perry, movie, Oren Peli, Paranormal Activity, Sprague Grayden 2 Comments »Paranormal activity was one of my favourite scare films back in its release in 2007. Due to its brilliant scare tactics and good use of home footage cameras, making the experience seem even more real, I was inclined to see the 2nd film on its release date last year. News has now hit me that the trilogy will be completed this October with a prequal of the first film being released. Paranormal Activity 3 will involve Katie, played by Katie Featherston in the first movie, and Kristi, played by Sprague Grayden in number 2, as children seeing the scary, demonic goings on in their house one more time. A change of director has been installed for the 3rd movie however the two writers in Michael R. Perry and Oren Peli (writer and director of the first film) remain.
I have got my hands on the trailer for you all to see. Take a quick look here:
What do you think? Personally I am a bit sceptical about this 3rd release. I thoroughly enjoyed the original, however the second film really was a huge flop. I didn’t find it scary at all and it took way too long to build up the suspense. Hopefully this film will be as good, if not better, than the first therefore saving the brilliance of the first film.
Paranormal Activity 3 is due to release October 2011.
