The Dark Knight Rises Update: New Wayne Manor found in Nottingham

Wollaton Hall, South Front

A 16th Century Elizabethan Mansion, Wollaton Hall in Nottingham, will be transformed into Wayne Manor for the upcoming Bat-flick, The Dark Knight Rises. The mansion, which will be closed from the 10th June – 6th July for filming, is currently the Natural History Museum for Nottingham, Industrial Museum, as well as the Yard Gallery. They exterior of this mansion is currently being transformed into a resort and golf course, so the original Wayne Manor exterior, in Mentmore Towers, Buckinghamshire, used in Batman Begins, cannot be used for this reason.

So, this will be the new home for Bruce Wayne and Alfred Pennyworth. For those of you who, for some stupid reason, have not seen Batman Begins, the movie sees the original Wayne Manor being burned to the ground by villain, Ra’s al Ghul. The new mansion itself appears quite dazzling, and seems to be very suitable for the new Wayne Manor. The Dark Knight Rises, is set to hit the big screens on 20th July, 2012.
