The Dark Knight Rises: Is The Batwing Back?

We seem to be getting updates on Batman almost everyday now, and having just come back from my holiday yesterday, I have returned, as I guessed I would, to more big updates, including an image of the Nolan-esque Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) on set. However, as sexy as a woman in a leather cat outfit is, I’m pretty sure there has been a lot more uproar on the leak of some new videos and images showing another vehicle from Christopher Nolan’s upcoming Bat-finale, The Dark Knight Rises.

The most recent business online is that this peculiar vehicle may in fact be the Caped Crusader’s method of air transport – The Batwing. For those of you who remember Batman Forever, the Batwing was briefly used in the movie, before being taken down by Two-Face and The Riddler. However, although it had a pretty cool looking Batwing and was a better movie than Batman & Robin, Batman Forever isn’t even a tiny drop of water trailing down the side of the full glass of water that is Batman Begins and The Dark Knight; and other than Forever and the Batwing from Batman (1989), there aren’t really any huge versions of the Batwing to compare against, other than that portrayed in the comics. So perhaps The Dark Knight Rises will be the one to truly show off the amazing technology that Batman really packs…not that it needs to be any more amazing (I mean, a Batmobile…with a built-in motorbike?!) Check out a video of what may be the Batwing, being transported to the Wabash Tunnel in Pittsburgh:

I would say this is exciting stuff, but it would appear that this movie slowly seems to be getting ruined by the day, and with the possibility of some big spoilers having already been revealed, I really hope nothing else too major spills itself on to the internet before this release. However, I’m sure there are still plenty of big secrets under wraps which will remain there, and not to mention, it is The Dark Knight Rises, so how can you not be excited?!

The Dark Knight Rises is expected to hit cinema screens on the 20th July, 2012, so book a day off.

New Shots Of Batman, Bane and Batpod From The Dark Knight Rises Set

Some of you may see these images as possible plot spoilers, so be wary.

New photos from the set of the hugely anticipated The Dark Knight Rises have hit the net. A few images have been revealed, featuring an image of Batman (Christian Bale) alongside Bane (Tom Hardy). Check out the image of the two brawling with each other on-set:

Here’s an image of the Batpod for the upcoming Batman finale in Christopher Nolan’s trilogy:

Here is another image, of the caped crusader on-set, in full costume:

Pretty exciting stuff, huh? Here is a small video of an apparent explosion in a prison riot on the set, too:

Here is another recent image, depicting a battle between Batman and Bane. As you can see, there are police officers and prisoners fighting amidst them, so it may be a scene which is part of a huge prison break caused by Bane:

Exciting stuff indeed. Keep an eye out on the latest Batman news. The Dark Knight Rises is set to hit cinema screens on 20th July, 2o12.

The Dark Knight Rises Teaser Trailer Leaked Online (UPDATED)

The teaser trailer for the upcoming movie, The Dark Knight Rises, has been leaked on to the internet. The movie, which although isn’t due for release until July 20th of next year, already has a trailer lasting 1 minute and 33 seconds long. If you do not wish to know what the trailer features, do not read the rest of this post. The teaser begins, with the Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures logos, before footage of Batman in Batman Begins is displayed, with a voice-over from the main villain in Begins, Ra’s Al Ghul (Liam Neeson), mentioning ‘what Bruce must become’. The trailer continues, showing a caption, “Every Hero Has A Journey”, and then, “Every Journey Has An End”.

The trailer then sees Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman), who appears to be laying in a hospital bed, seeming a bit run down, with him talking to Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale), stating they are, “in this together”. Gordon then begs for Batman to return, before the trailer moves forward to a scene of Bane (Tom Hardy), before the camera scales a large building, moving up to the sky, showing the image we all know, the Bat logo (see image, top right).

The trailer has been taken down all across the internet, but may still be up in a few places, if you do decide to watch the recorded version. However, if you enjoy highly anticipated movies in all their full, high-quality beauty, like me, you can wait until Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 hits the cinema screens on Friday, and just wait until then. Or, alternatively, you could just watch it now, and then watch it in all its beautiful high-quality glory at the cinemas too.

Since this post we have got rid of the teaser trailer in low quality, since it’s release of the official Dark Knight Rises Trailer. Click on the link below to check out our new post that shows the official trailer:

The Dark Knight Rises: Teaser Poster Unveiled

Finally, an official teaser poster for the hugely anticipated The Dark Knight Rises, hits the internet. The image, below, shows a mass of skyscrapers, which appear to be crumbling, of course, producing an outline of Batman’s Bat logo. The skyscrapers most likely, must be from the home city of Batman/Bruce Wayne, Gotham City. The fact that the skyscrapers are crumbling to pieces could indicate many things. Perhaps it’s showing the destruction and chaos happening in Gotham city, and in the middle, is Batman, who will finally restore peace to the corrupt city. Or maybe the skyscrapers are being built up again, as opposed to being broken down, symbolising the rising of The Dark Knight. Or maybe it’s just an awesome image that’s supposed to get us excited for the movie, which it has done.

A short teaser trailer is rumoured to be appearing before the showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, which is supposed to last around 1 minute and 33 seconds. Whether it is supposed to show any of the characters or not, no one knows. However, if the rumours are true, all I know is that you’ll want to make sure that you get to your showing of Deathly Hallows Part 2 well in advance so that you can catch the trailers. Although characters may not be shown in the trailer, the only official image to be released of a character from the upcoming movie, is of Bane (Tom Hardy), check it out if you haven’t already: http://wp.me/p1aSRl-g1.

Here is the poster from a slightly different angle: http://static.muveez.com/media/Dark%20Knight%20Movie%20Poster(1).jpg

The Dark Knight Rises, directed by Christopher Nolan, who, coincidentally (or not), used skyscrapers in a damaged environment for his teaser poster of huge blockbuster, Inception, is set to hit cinema screens on the 20th July, 2012.

The Dark Knight Rises Gets Big Cameo

Christopher Nolan

Image via Wikipedia

WARNING: The following information contains details on a spoiler which will appear in the upcoming Christopher Nolan movie, The Dark Knight Rises, detailing a massive cameo which will be appearing in the movie. It is quite a big cameo, so if you do not wish to know anymore on the topic, I advise you to turn away, now.

The latest news in, which, unfortunately for me and every other Batman fan, was unable to stay under wraps, is that a huge cameo will be appearing in the currently filming, The Dark Knight Rises, and those of you who have seen Batman Begins, will particularly enjoy this.

Liam Neeson, has been spotted filming a short scene on The Dark Knight Rises set, who played Ra’s Al Ghul in the first Nolan installment in the Batman trilogy, Batman Begins. However, reports say only a short scene was filmed, before he left to attend the New York Broadway Premiere of Spiderman on Tuesday evening.

Like I, and many others, have speculated in the past, I always had a feeling that they would involve the character of Ra’s once again, especially with him somewhat being known as an immortal or supernatural character in the comics. Josh Pence, will be playing a young Ra’s Al Ghul in flashbacks in the upcoming movie. Talia Al Ghul, the estranged daughter of Ra’s in the comics, will also be appearing in the upcoming movie, so perhaps her appearance may tie in with the cameo of Ra’s. And, as Ra’s is considered as having supernatural methods, as mentioned in Begins, maybe he may come back to share this idea of being able to bring people back to life, which, in effect, may have adverse affects on Wayne/Batman, whose parents were killed.

Ra’s, who appeared to have died in Batman Begins, although somewhat ambiguously, will definitely be a brilliant role in the upcoming movie; it’s just a shame that Warner Bros. failed to keep it hidden, ruining this great surprise for all of us poor victims who just can’t turn down a juicy Batman spoiler..

The Dark Knight Rises Update: Josh Stewart Joins Cast

The latest ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ news is that actor, Josh Stewart (‘The Collector’) has been added to the cast of the up-coming Christopher Nolan Bat-flick. However, his role is currently down as unspecified. Reports also indicate that Stewart will be the last person to join the cast for this movie, meaning that a bigger picture of the movie and its storyline as a whole may be easier to build and speculate on. It’s nice to know that the cast is finally complete, and whether Stewart’s role will be of any importance or not, this movie will be amazing, and I cannot wait for it.

Although the main roles in the movie seem to be taken, it doesn’t seem like there would be any space for Stewart to have a largely significant role anyway; however, Nolan is known to always have a few tricks up his sleeve…well, I say tricks, but I really mean amazing surprises…

The Dark Knight Rises, will amongst others, star Christian Bale (Batman/Bruce Wayne), Anne Hathaway (Selina Kyle/Catwoman), Tom Hardy (Bane), Gary Oldman (Jim Gordon), and Michael Caine (Alfred Pennyworth). The movie is expected to his the big screens on 20th July of 2012.

The Dark Knight Rises Update: Matthew Modine To Play Bad Guy?

Matthew Modine at the 2009 Tribeca Film Festiv...

Image via Wikipedia

Recent news has it that Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket) will be playing a character named Nixon, with further news suggesting that this may be an evil character; possibly a corrupt politician. The highly anticipated upcoming Batman sequel, The Dark Knight Rises, being directed by Christopher Nolan, has recently began filming, and although the news on Modine is the latest, much information is still under wraps, as is with most information on this movie.

Apparently, reports also suggest that the character Nixon will be a ‘key villain’ in the movie, and his scenes will be filmed in London. Hopefully, this may be true, considering at the moment there are only two main known villains in the upcoming sequel; Bane, and Catwoman, although of course, there is always the dilemma of whether the character of Catwoman is considered a villain or not. Either way, The Dark Knight Rises has begun filming, and I’m sure we will not be disappointed with the outcome of this masterpiece-to-be.
