The Dark Knight Rises: Is The Batwing Back?

We seem to be getting updates on Batman almost everyday now, and having just come back from my holiday yesterday, I have returned, as I guessed I would, to more big updates, including an image of the Nolan-esque Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) on set. However, as sexy as a woman in a leather cat outfit is, I’m pretty sure there has been a lot more uproar on the leak of some new videos and images showing another vehicle from Christopher Nolan’s upcoming Bat-finale, The Dark Knight Rises.

The most recent business online is that this peculiar vehicle may in fact be the Caped Crusader’s method of air transport – The Batwing. For those of you who remember Batman Forever, the Batwing was briefly used in the movie, before being taken down by Two-Face and The Riddler. However, although it had a pretty cool looking Batwing and was a better movie than Batman & Robin, Batman Forever isn’t even a tiny drop of water trailing down the side of the full glass of water that is Batman Begins and The Dark Knight; and other than Forever and the Batwing from Batman (1989), there aren’t really any huge versions of the Batwing to compare against, other than that portrayed in the comics. So perhaps The Dark Knight Rises will be the one to truly show off the amazing technology that Batman really packs…not that it needs to be any more amazing (I mean, a Batmobile…with a built-in motorbike?!) Check out a video of what may be the Batwing, being transported to the Wabash Tunnel in Pittsburgh:

I would say this is exciting stuff, but it would appear that this movie slowly seems to be getting ruined by the day, and with the possibility of some big spoilers having already been revealed, I really hope nothing else too major spills itself on to the internet before this release. However, I’m sure there are still plenty of big secrets under wraps which will remain there, and not to mention, it is The Dark Knight Rises, so how can you not be excited?!

The Dark Knight Rises is expected to hit cinema screens on the 20th July, 2012, so book a day off.

The Dark Knight Rises – Plot Leaked?

You read it, the latest is that the plot details for the upcoming blockbuster, The Dark Knight Rises, have been leaked. Fan site ‘Batman-On-Film‘, has reported that the storyline will entail Batman’s battle against The League of Shadows, controlled by Talia al Ghul. The League of Shadows was also involved in the events of Batman Begins, run by Ra’s al Ghul (Liam Neeson).

Villain, Talia al Ghul, is supposedly known to have links with muscle-monster Bane, who will be played by Tom Hardy. Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception) will be a member of The League, while Catwoman (Anne Hathaway), although a villain, will join forces with the Dark Knight towards the end of the movie, and battle it out with the League of Shadows.

Although the website insists that these reports are accurate, with comments from site viewers agreeing with this information, many are still skeptical. I know I am. But who knows? Either way, I’d like more proof on this before I accept any of the above information. And if true, who knows, perhaps Ra’s al Ghul will return from the dead, as he says in Batman Begins, “But is Ra’s al Ghul immortal?’. Not to mention that the character lived for centuries in the comic book stories, never known to have actually died. I think it would be nice to see Neeson return as Ra’s, but for now, I think we should further speculate on the events which may occur in The Dark Knight Rises, until we receive some more reliable information.

The Dark Knight Rises Update: Marion Cotillard Joins The Cast?

Actress Marion Cotillard — People aux défilés ...

The latest news is that French actress Marion Cotillard, has joined the cast for the upcoming Bat-flick, The Dark Knight Rises. Cotillard, who played Mal, in blockbuster, Inception, is reported to have joined the cast, although there is no news as of yet as to what her role will be in the highly anticipated movie.

Cotillard will be joining Tom Hardy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, both of whom also starred in Inception, directed by Christopher Nolan, who will also be directing TDKR. So, another cast member of Inception is brought into TDKR. I feel that this cast is definitely an interesting selection, and I have a good feeling that the movie will turn out to be an amazingly brilliant one, just like its predecessor, The Dark Knight Rises (for those of you who don’t know; although, if you didn’t know that, there is no hope for you).

This lovely bunch will be working alongside Anne Hathaway, who will be playing Catwoman. The Dark Knight Rises, will begin shooting this summer in Los Angeles, and is set to hit the big screens on 20th July, 2012. This will be a movie not to be missed. Guaranteed.
